Teaching Philosophy
A classroom is created to be a safe and positive learning environment. A smile and, “Good morning,” can turn each day around and create a pleasant environment to promote successful learning. The classroom should be fair, not equal, to include each individual child’s learning needs. Classrooms should be a safe haven for students to grow continuously academically, and as individuals in society. With proper structures and routines in the classroom to foster successful classroom management, the classroom can be the foundation to prepare students for lifelong inquiry and desire to learn despite their social, economic, or cultural differences.
Each student has the potential to exceed greatness if high standards are set. Students can have confidence as learners, which will shine through as individuals in society. In order to build confidence and continue to exceed standards, they must be understood as individuals in the classroom. Each child is different; therefore, no two children learn the same, so it is imperative to understand what will motivate each child. What students learn in the classroom will benefit them in society and years beyond, providing them with the ability to grow to be responsible for their actions and advocate for their rights.
As a teacher, I will be the one to set high standards for all students. Each child will be different, but it is my job to learn how to promote self-confidence to perpetuate their desire to learn. I will endlessly search for resources to make the curriculum more challenging and engaging, to keep students excited about gaining knowledge. I will use data to drive class instruction to ensure students are continuously making progress. Each student will be understood personally, so I can understand them academically, emotionally, and behaviorally. Each child’s behavior serves a purpose, and it is my job to serve this function positively in the classroom to promote a cohesive and efficient learning environment. I will act by example by taking responsibility for all of my positive and negative actions, acting with respect towards all, and showing my excitement and dedication to learning more each day.
